The Learning to Run a Power Network (L2RPN) 2023 challenge addresses climate change by promoting the energy transition to renewable sources like solar and wind. Organized with Réseau de Transport de l’Électricité (RTE) and Ile-de-France (Paris Region), the participants competed over a 500,000 € research grant, developping AI agents able to operate a simulated power grid, in a reinforcement-learning-like protocol.
